The offshore bug bit Rick early in life, and catching his first white marlin in 1969 really left a mark. For the next twenty years, work limited Ricks fishing to Ocean City, MD. After college, Rick worked as a General Motors mechanic and achieved the Master Mechanic rating. The following years brought a working knowledge of fiberglass repairs, and his business grew until he needed a crew of four. The most lucrative years came while Rick was employed as a salesman selling poultry processing equipment, but he felt most satisfied and doing what he loved so he became a boat captain and fisherman full-time and has never looked back.Rick has had his 100 ton Masters license for 32 years. He is knowledgeable on vessel maintenance and new builds for both production and custom boats. Rick’s automotive and marine experience gives him an edge in systems knowledge. He has traveled on vessels ranging from 25 to 121 feet to the mid-Atlantic, Costa Rica, Panama, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Mexico, Venezuela.
